30 APRIL 2008: Busy month means... PHOTO TIME!

I've been quite busy - too busy to think about any entries right now - so I am reduced to the blog equivalent of "filler," which is...

    SAMMY PHOTOS!

Either Garbo or Ms. Daisy. Sammy's Firetruck! My Sleeping Beauty.

    01 APRIL 2008: What I'm...

  • Reading: Tudors: King Takes Queen by Elizabeth Massie. Yes - I'm actually trying to get through... a book!

  • Watching: Torchwood, BBC America. This series is a nice combination of what I liked about X-Files (which I didn't watch because I just wasn't impressed by the show) and Doctor Who, without all the crap I don't like. I also like the fact that I only have to commit to 13 episodes a year - it's hard enough trying to fit in any television watching as it is without trudging through potentially 30 episodes of most US-made crud.

  • Listening: Soundtrack: Flight of the Conchords. I haven't seen the HBO show, but I too a flyer on the disc (one thing about making muliple road trips is that I get a desperate need for fresh music) and was not disappointed. It's quite funny, and makes me want to watch the DVD of the series. There are deft parodies of Eminem and the Pet Shop Boys, and makes me wonder why "Tenacious D" can't be like this: smart and funny without being crass, crude, or trying too hard to get a laugh.
