25 DECEMBER 2007: Christmas Break
Literally...
My Mom broke her right ankle in 1986 and had several pins and screws inserted into it to stabilize the completely shattered joint. Doctors told her she may never walk again. Well, just a few months later she walked into the same doctor's office, much to his surprise.
Well, nearly two weeks ago she fell and broke bones in the left ankle, giving her a matched set. Once the infection is gone, surgery will take place and a tough rehab will begin. I'm sure my mom will come out okay, but it's going to be a tough few months ahead, as myself and my nephew have less-than-forgiving schedules (and living hours away doesn't help).
So, I may not be able to post much here as we wait to see what happens both in the next week and a half, and the next three months. If you want to know how mom's doing, let me know. In the meantime, below are a few photos (okay... four) of Sam from a few days before Christmas, and Christmas morning.
Hopefully, I will be able to post the annual ICRVN Year in Review soon... But I still have to write it first. So, bear with me as my focus is obviously, more importantly, elsewhere.
And of course, Merry Hannukwanzas everybody.
